Great way to end the '23/'24 season. Spent the last few days of January putting some miles on behind the girls and blessed to have them all healthy. With CeCe the pup finishing up her first season to Elli who finished her 13th season. All dogs had multiple contacts and was able to connect each day over each dog, could not have gone any better.

@gundogcentral as you know, seasons like this are not the norm! Hopefully we all have a mild late winter and the spring is favorable for nesting.

@birdogn Super jealous!! Sounds like you had a great season!
The first bird of the 2023 season came from the MT prairies. I thought there was no way a sharptail would be sitting in the middle of this field when the dog hit point and there wasn't a prayer that a covey of huns would sit that long. Sure glad I made the walk out to her, been wrong too many times when I don't trust the dog.

@birdogn Sounds like a good lesson we could all learn from!!
The 2023 MN season came to an end yesterday but could not have asked for a better ending. Put a limit in the game bag one final time over a couple hardworking ladies. Will be back out in a couple months getting ready for the cover dog trials.

@gundogchat it starts in mid September for MN. I am in Nodak so it's around a 6 hour round trip to hit the closest grouse covers each weekend. I am lucky to have an understanding wife!

@birdogn Wow! What a way to close out the season. When does your season start?
Great morning on the prairie before the heat shut us down. Sadie is coming along nicely at 3 years old. She is out of recently elected HOF CH True Confidence and one of my Elhew bitches.

Thank you!

@birdogn beautiful dog!
At 4 months old, our new pup pointed her first ruffed grouse and surprisingly I was able to connect on this mature drummer. CeCe is out of CH Miller's Blindsider x CH Nine To Five Nation. Fast forward to today, she has traveled to 8 states and handled 7 species of wild birds by 6 months of age. Exciting to see young dogs develop although she has plenty to get figured out.
