My Feed
From our first trip west of the season, my oldest shorthair.
Tried to explain to my wife why I still need to hunt with a newborn at home. Birds were holding tight so I thought a video of THE view when you come over a rise would do better than my words. She didn't get it, but I figured folks on here would.

Wow!
My name is Zachary Byers, I am an Iowa Ducks Unlimited member and I am going for my bachelor's in Outdoor Conservation. I think it's really interesting the sheer number of bird dog breeds out there. I like the look of the Boykin Spaniels. I'm not a hunter yet but I will be taking my hunters safety done online here soon. Better late than never at the age of 22.

Hunting is better with a dog, but you'll never regret starting hunting. Hopefully you are able to find some mentors in Iowa to help you learn the ropes. Don't hesitate to ask questions, ask for help, and you'll love it!

This week's Gun Dog Chat Gun Dog Book winner is fellow Tennessee resident, Kate Hall!! She's won a Limited Edition hardback copy of Mouthful of Feathers - Upland in America. This book also comes with a limited print from Frederick Stivers. Many of you might know Kate Hall from her own wonderful illustrations. She faced some tough competition this week, but came out victorious in our random drawing! In honor of her victory, next week's book winner will receive one of Kate's new wildlife calendars. You can see her 2023 calendar
